The social inclusion department aims to
enhance the life chances of potentially marginalised/excluded
children and young people, by influencing policy, and developing
good practice and services within the sector. Our work helps to
translate policy and research into practice, for practitioners
and managers working with vulnerable or excluded children and
young people and engages with all levels of agencies including
central and local government.
Our work is focused around five areas:
- children in public care
- disabled children and young people
- vulnerable children in families, schools and communities
- youth justice and welfare
- children living with HIV
And we deliver our work through the following specialist strands,
