In your area
The regional infrastructure development component of the VCS
Engage programme is being lead by NCVCCO, which has appointed
regional development managers (RDMs) for each Government Office
region. The key functions of these roles are to:
- Support and develop the strategic involvement of the voluntary
sector in their work with Local Authorities within the region,
working with partners to identify their ongoing support and
infrastructure needs.
- Act as a conduit from the national VCS Engage programme to the
region.
- Support the development of improved links and coordination
between Government Office and the VCS in each region.
Within regions
A steering group supports
the role and oversees the work plan of the RDMs. It also:
- provides broad base experience across all sectors – children,
youth, family
- provides access to contacts and networks
- helps bridge divisions between sectors
The steering group helps the RDMs link in with all the different
work carried out in regions by other organisations, helping to
prevent duplication where possible.
