Keeping our children safe: raising awareness in black and minority ethnic communities
The Safe Network has developed an exciting and innovative CD Rom that allows trainers and group leaders to take safeguarding children to the very heart of black and minority ethnic communities. The resource is suitable for use with parents, carers, community groups, staff and volunteers working with or in black and minority ethnic communities. This CD is available in: English, French, Chinese, Urdu, Bengali and Arabic. If you work in or with the community and voluntary sector, you can order a free copy of this resource. Visit our Schools and Colleges – register to take part!
Charity, the Education and Employers Taskforce, is planning the first ever national campaign for business leaders to visit state schools and colleges during the week of the 18 - 22 October 2010. This ‘call to action’ is a chance for bosses from private, public and third sector organisations to hear first-hand from head teachers and young people ages 5 - 19 about they can actively help shape their motivation, skills, achievement and employability. This is more than work experience.
