Mini Self Evaluation Toolkit: Assessing
Engagement with Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Children’s
Services Providers
VCS Engage has developed and piloted a Mini
Self Evaluation Toolkit (SET) to enable Local Authorities, Trusts,
Strategic Partnerships, Support Agencies and the VCS to assess the
level of engagement of the VCS in all aspects of local area
children’s services.
The toolkit focuses on areas such as
commissioning, representation on Children’s Trusts or Strategic
Boards, the level of input in to local area policy or strategy as
well as highlighting examples of VCS leading on strategy and
delivery of local area services.
The mini SET includes an action plan section
where those taking part can set out the actions for improving
future engagement as well as a communications section to identify
how that will be reviewed and shared across the local area.
Copies of the Self Evaluation Toolkit are
available free from VCS Engage, National Children’s Bureau on 020
7843 6085 or email info@vcsengage.org.uk or
you can access an online copy in the 'Cross-sector engagement' category in the
Publications section.
The full report analysing the findings from
the evaluation process will be available on the site soon.
