An invaluable resource for childcare professionals and practitioners, researchers, health and social workers, teachers and trainers, educational psychologists, probation officers, youth workers and students.

NCB's established resource gives you online access to:

  • a catalogue of over 80,000 records of books, reports and journal articles
  • press coverage of issues affecting children, collected since 1996


ChildData is updated continuously by a live feed and consists of two databases:

1. Catalogue
Records of books, reports and journal articles all with abstracts, covering the literature on children and young people. It includes the full text of the Highlight series, and all articles from Children & Society, NCB’s academic journal published jointly with Wiley-Blackwell.

2. Children in the News
Abstracted summaries (over 33,500 records) of newspaper coverage of children’s and young people’s issues since 1996. It includes law reports, editorials, news stories, features and opinion pieces.
