Parentline Plus offers help and advise to anyone caring for a child. A range of services are on offer including publications for parents, e-mail and textphone support, parenting groups and workshops, and a free confidential telephone helpline which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Parents, Early Years and Learning (PEAL)

PEAL aims to increase levels of educational achievement for children living in disadvantaged areas, increase knowledge and confidence for parents in how to enhance their children’s learning and increase knowledge, skills and qualifications for early years practitioners enabling them to work closer with parents and children.

School-home support

School-home support workers provide a link between parents, teachers and other members of the school team. They aim to engage parents into school life through dynamic and innovative methods.

School-home support offers help to parents and students in four specialist areas: school attendance; transition between schools; curriculum support through learning mentors; and working with families.

Straight talking

Straight Talking helps teenage parents to move forward into education and employment and reach their full potential, by offering comprehensive support and training.

Straight Talking provides one to one mentoring, visits from careers advisors, counsellors and other professionals. They are given support with finance issues and signposted for further help.
